viva familia 2009
Dear YWAMers and YWAM alumni,
Youth With A Mission Quebec invites you to our second edition of VIVA FAMILIA, a coffee-desert get together for all of you who are part of the greater YWAM family. The evening will take place on Saturday October 24th 2009 at the Montreal Lighthouse.
This will be a great opportunity for us all who live in Quebec & surroundings to re-connect as a local YWAM family and for each of us to be encouraged in our calling for the Kingdom of God. We look forward to seeing you there.
RSVP – contact Keith Whittaker to confirm your participation reception@jemdunham.com 450-295-2744
Saturday October 24 @ 7pm at the Lighthouse 2154 ste catherine west - Montreal (Atwater metro)
Spouses are welcome. There will be no participation fee or offering taken, as this is not a fundraising event.
FYI: In 2010, Youth With A Mission Quebec will have the privilege of welcoming Loren & Darlene Cunningham to celebrate the 50th anniversary of YWAM international, from September 15 to 17 in Dunham. We will be sending details as the event approaches.
Lots coming up soon The coming three weeks guarantee to be packed out and a lot of fun too, as we gather this coming Saturday April 4th in Dunham for the YWAM Quebec annual day. The following week, Friday the 10th, we are hosting our community easter supper and are hoping for a great response from our local community. And then from April 17 to 19 we will be putting on the 2nd edition of the Dunham Home Improvement. We are still looking for a good number of volunteers to come join the renovation and improvement action! Email Marc today to confirm your presence. Right after that, we'll be seeing our 4 outreach teams off for the next 8 weeks, as they minister to people and nations abroad! Exciting!
Thin Place Retreat The
retreat will start at 8pm on Friday March 27 and will finish after
lunch on Sunday March 29. Our guest speaker for the retreat is Jeff
Pratt, a gifted communicator who heads up YWAM AXIOM in New Haven, Connecticut. The retreat will include times of teaching, of silence, of small group discussions and of fellowship. If you want to know more, click here.
camp 5 Camp 5 is approaching fast and the Generations DTS crew has been working hard at it! For more info on the camp, click here.
viva familia the first edition of VIVA FAMILIA took place last Saturday night, October 25 2008. VIVA FAMILIA is a coffee-dessert evening with the purpose of gathering the large YWAM family (anyone who's been in YWAM since its start in 1960) of the Quebec region. Nearly 100 "young and not so young" people came together on a rainy Fall evening at the Lighthouse (2154 St-Cathering West, near Metro Atwater) for a lovely time of reunion and encouragement ! Thank you to all of you who made it to this special event. We wish you all a wonderful winter and look forward to seeing you at another VIVA FAMILIA time! If you would like to see pictures from the evening, click here.
intergenerational dts
The idts is starting in less than 3 months and we're excited about what
God has in store for this next school. Andreas & Paulina, along
with a great team of staff (Karine, Lydia and Eloise) are going to be
leading this school. The idts is a great opportunity to learn about
unity through diversity as students can be both young and old, married
or single, and from many different places around the globe! You want to join us on this next adventure? Email us!
arts & music DTS graduation
On June 25th, we all celebrated the end of the amdts. What a great school it has been! One by one, students are leaving, going back home. It's weird not to have them around anymore as they brought so much life! Now the 2009 arts & music DTS is under preperation. If you'd like to know more about it, email us!
neighbor's bbq
As the arts & music DTS was coming back from outreach (Asia, Africa and Europe), they put a show together and presented it in the context of a neighbor's bbq we'd like to hold every year, at the beginning of the summer. We had a good time and hope to see more and more of our neighbors join us to party and hang out!
camp mammouth
It's happening very soon and the anticipation is growing. We'll be holding our first camp mammouth ever with around 15-20 participants, ages 10 to 16! 3 specialties were offered (paintball, outdoor adventure & visual arts). Unfortunately, we had to cancel the visual arts as no one subrscribed. For the 2 other specialties, many will be coming which should make for some awesome adventures! Make sure to stop by the official camp mammouth website: www.campmammouth.com
