YWAM Dunham is located at the heart of Quebec's vineyard and fruit-growing area. The area surrounding Dunham has been blessed with a unique "micro-climate" which makes it the only part of Quebec favourable to the growth of vineyards and to the wine industry. It combines rolling plains, hills and Mount Pinnacle just to the south.
Dunham's unique history and characteristics bring visitors from far and wide. Dunham was the first official "township" established in the region of Southern Quebec known as the Eastern Townships. The Townships are an area that began to be settled in the 1790's first by the English, then in cooperation by French and English settlers. Because of this cooperation and subsequent intermarriage between the French and English, there is a large number of people who are bilingual and bicultural.
Dunham is a 15-minute drive to the U.S. border of Vermont, a little over an hour drive to the Burlington Vermont airport, and an hour drive to Montreal. This accessibility, combined with its picturesque attractions, the wine road and the quality restaurants along the wine road, make Dunham a memorable place frequented by visitors from near and far.
In the winter season, the weather is ideal for ski outings in the region. Dunham is fairly close to two decent-size ski stations, Bromont and Sutton, and several cross-country ski trails actually start out in Dunham.
