Youth With A Mission seeks to empower young people into responsibilities and visions, but also desires to equip young people with tools and an adequate structure in which they can learn how to become a servant-leader.
For this reason, YWAM has developed over the years several training opportunities to help grow in servant-heartedness, in leadership calling and in exercising leadership values and skills. One of these training programs is the “Basic leadership School” (BLS).
The BLS is for anyone who has done a DTS at Youth With A Mission and who wants to discover or develop his leadership potential in the context of a YWAM school. In the BLS program, the student is lead to staff two schools he has already completed (for example 2 DTS’ or other YWAM schools).
Beyond the responsibilities he exercises in the school he staffs, the BLS student:
-Meets the speaker of the week for a time of teaching and discussion on an aspect of leadership -Studies two books -Holds a creative journal on what he is learning
Therefore the BLS student can receive teaching on leadership, at the same time as benefiting from an ideal context to put into practice what he is learning, in view of becoming a leader after God’s heart.
